Yewlands Technology College

Yewlands Academy (formerly known as Yewlands Secondary School and Yewlands Technology College) is a secondary school with academy status located in the Grenoside area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The school was originally located on three sites; Elm, Yew and Willow. The school was rebuilt as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme and reopened in September 2009.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.sheffieldbsfschools.com/about%20bsf%20and%20Sheffield%20LEP/Pages/BSFinSheffield.aspx )〕 The new building was designed to make the atmosphere more 'grown up' and college like. The school has under 900 students, which is below the British average.
The Academy's former uniform was a v-neck black jumper, either a grey, pink or orange polo shirt and black trousers and shoes. The logo is three circles in the same colours as the polo shirts with 'Y' 'T' & 'C' in them. This is meant to represent unity and togetherness and was designed by a former pupil. However, the uniform has since changed into blazers and ties.
Former pupils include Olympic Long Jumper Sheila Sherwood (née Parkin) who won Silver at the Mexico Games in 1968, and a Commonwealth Gold two years later.
